Charlos Update June 02, 2025

Jaw surgery went great! Drs are happy with the result. CT scan from this AM show things unchanged (same “no news is good news” there) Propofol is all the way weaned off, and he is handling that well so far. Lung specialist update- Oxygen levels are looking good. And he has started weaning Los off oxygen as well with lungs looking OK on that side of things. He says this morning that it looks like Los is already triggering a good amount of his own breaths and he wants to start lowering the ventilator support, and having ventilator support [...]

Update 7:40am from nurse (Kevin) Trauma surgeon was in early morning and confirmed everything on that side of things continues to look good. Jaw surgery still on track for 10am today please Pray. Will be wired shut for ~1 month The plan following surgery (later today and into tomorrow) will be to try and wean him off the sedation meds. Propofol is the main one keeping him sedated and they’re going to start with that one a bit to feel it out and see how he reacts. Other than that,… another night of solid rest. Charlos Update May 29, 2025

We accomplished our goal of getting the MRI done today! His C-Collar was removed by the trauma surgeon; he only had minor strains in his neck. Planning on jaw surgery on Sunday, and his tracheostomy and G-tube will be placed sometime Friday or Saturday. The Neurointesivist confirmed the diagnosis of DAI from the MRI.
