Update from the Charles Bentley (Los’s dad): So far, today has been somewhat of a ‘plateau’ day. Los had a challenging night. He was storming early this morning and had an elevated temperature. The temp went down to normal for a while but is now spiking (12:30pm). During the night, Los was placed back in the ventilator but he is now breathing over the ventilator. CPAP on for 25hrs!!    Temp overnight stayed below 100.   He went slightly over 100 for a bit this morning but already settling back down to 99.   Good progress there with his temp not spiking too high the last two days. RT spoke with doctor about getting him on the Airvo high-flow oxygen support (progress and the next step to get Los off the ventilator — and which will open up some more ideal next step / specialty care facility options).   Doctor approved AirVo and thinks it is a good idea to try that out today, after seeing Los’s strong performance on [...]

Los had a good night overall with minimal storming, and vitals as of this morning are good / normal.    A slight fever at 101.8 as of 9am, but nurse believes should be back under control with ice packs going back on now + meds going in now.    Los looks well rested this morning. CPAP went for 7.5hrs yesterday 👍💪 CPAP back on as of 8am this morning and going strong. The main prayer requests continue to be for rest, for continued brain healing, for the storming episodes to get less frequent and less intense (which they currently are [...]

Update from Los’s dad, Charles Bentley: Los stormed on & off late last night through this morning and his temp was a bit high at 101.7 but came down after applying cool towels. He got daily his meds, change of position and bedding and he did well with the turning, touching & re-positioning…. no storming triggered by the movement, which was great to see! Day 30 of Los being in coma. Last night was a pretty good (uneventful) night for Los.  Some off and on fever (up to 102) with some mild neuro-storming earlier this morning.   But heart rate and temperature (98.8)) has both settled back down close to normal again (without having to go back on any sedation type med), thanks to some wonderful love and care from Charles keeping Los calm and relaxed with some quiet talking + keeping his washcloths dipped in ice water on a constant rotation.    Doctors seemed to have found a medicine schedule that helped Los yesterday (less [...]
