Updates

The night nurse was working through fever management most of the night due to Los’s neuro-storming. Fever got up to 102 range, and Dex (sedation med) turned back on and up to 0.6 to help with managing it. By 8:15am Dex lowered to 0.4 and fever is down 98 🙏. Los is resting pretty comfortably so far this morning. Los did 8hrs on continuous CPAP unassisted breathing yesterday. 👍 CPAP will go on again mid-morning once they let him rest and recharge a bit more/ turn down the Dex a bit more (lowered to 0.2 as of 9:15am, with [...]

It was a bit of a restless night for Los with nurses helping him work through some neuro-storming and round of fevers and perspiration caused by the storming. Overnight they had to put him back on Dex (sedation med) to get his body / blood pressure / heart rate to settle and recover from some storming episodes. As of this morning, he remains on Dex and is pretty comfortable with occasional minor storming here and there. Fever starting to subside. Los had a good start to his Father's Day morning, doing his daily early AM hangout + Bible study with his dad, Charles. The love witnessed between father and son (Charles and Los) each morning there in the SICU is truly inspiring and contagious. All the prayers are working and truly making an impact!! Los had a much better sleep last night. Dex (sedation med) has remained off. They started a “wake-up” med late yesterday and will keep that going today (now that Dex is off… with the hope that can help bring him out of the coma now that his vitals are back and in a consistent, stable condition). CPAP went longer yesterday (4 hrs) and is back to going the right direction again (versus the 1/2 hr. the day before)!! White cell counts are down from 16 yesterday to 12 this [...]

A bit of a restless sleep for Los last night as his body looks to be fighting some sort of possible infection (based on white cell count spike, and fever that has been hovering around 101). Doctors have started a general antibiotic as of last night. As of 9:30am his fever started to subside a bit. Please be praying those symptoms continue to settle and stabilize throughout the day today.
